The husband-wife filmmaking duo, who go by "Ronnie & Barty" on YouTube, have been chronicling their Himalayan life with a lens for a few years now, capturing breathtaking visuals. It’s some setting, one that Thakur and Bahrani explore for a living visualizing places both seen and unseen around the mountain range. Their videos are particularly absolutely stunning and they do justice to their beautiful visual depiction by adding a touch of storytelling to their vlogs which make it 10x interesting.
Ronnie and Barty travel to Lahaul (near Rohtang Pass) and they beautifully capture Lahaul’s underrated beauty in the best way possible. They cover glaciers, the tiny villages, and the local food. They even mention the Lahaul household traditions and rituals as Ronnie is originally from Lahaul as well. Rohan aka Ronnie engages in a wonderful storytelling concept in his videos and mentions Lahaul’s hardships, difficulties, and the sheer underrated beauty of it. Also, the cinematography and visuals are to die for.
One of my favorite videos by them. It’s very well executed. They planned to live between Leh and Manali for over 10 days as a journey, which could be done in 17 hours but that’s the fun, the adventure, and the thrill. They bring along their friends/colleagues to have some fun, shoot, work, and just live in exploration. The vlog is very informative, and just visually stunning. Not to forget, relaxing. It’s a vlog series so get some snacks, or a beer and relax.
A very chill, relaxing, low-key video this time. He goes to a new, upcoming village called Sethan that’s about an hour's drive from Manali. Sethan usually opens up igloos from the 15th of January but this time December saw an early snowfall so the igloos were made earlier than usual. Ronnie explores Sethan (obviously, again, stunning visuals) but also stays in the igloo overnight which surprisingly turns out to be very comfortable and structured. It’s a very easy going and fun vlog. I highly recommend it.

People usually hesitate to go to Kashmir because of their volatile history but the way Ronnie and Barty have captured the charm and surreal beauty of Gulmarg (the heart of Kashmir) no kidding, it’s now easily one of my top 10 places to visit. It. Is. Absolutely. Breathtaking. He highlights and recommends social activities out there including skiing and the after ski meals and coffee which, not gonna lie, got me REALLY hungry. I absolutely love how they shot this video and how captivating his storytelling is.
Last but not the least, I think I forgot to mention, Rohan Thakur is also a musician who composes his own music for his videos. So not only is he a brilliant filmmaker but he has also got his own music to go with his vlogs. His first and the most recent album called Chapter One is insanely low-key and relaxing. I highly recommend you to check his album out which is available on all streaming platforms.
I hope you liked this blog and I hope you like Ronnie and Barty’s vlogs as much as I do once you check em out! If you’d like more of these, please let me know! Share my website with your friends, it’ll mean a ton to me. My social media accounts are mentioned below. Thank you, and adios.
